Programs & ServicesPrograms are designed to propel individuals toward stability and self-sufficiency. The Community Development Partnership (CDP) exists to promote a vibrant and diverse community on the Lower Cape by addressing housing needs and encouraging small business development and job growth. We support this mission through a number of innovative programs and services targeting a variety of individuals and business owners on the Lower Cape. We encourage you to check our upcoming workshops regularly for a list of upcoming programs, or sign up for our email newsletter to stay informed of all CDP programming, news and events. Small Business ProgramsThe Community Development Partnership is committed to supporting economic development within our community through programs and education that foster the start-up and growth of local businesses, as well as those that tackle the unique business challenges of the fishing and aquaculture industries, home-based businesses, artists and other crafts people on the Lower Cape. However, increased demand and skyrocketing home rental and purchase prices have resulted in an affordable housing crisis on the Lower Cape. The CDP has actively responded to this crisis with several programs aimed at increasing the number of attractive, quality affordable housing units available for low to moderate income families from Harwich to Provincetown. Through a combination of housing development projects, housing rehabilitation efforts, property management, and educational opportunities for home owners and renters, the CDP is making great strides in providing more people on the Lower Cape with a decent and safe place to live, regardless of their income level. Canal House: A Residential Sober Living FacilitySince 1998, the CDP has owned and operated Canal House, a residential sober living facility that can accommodate five men and three women, plus an on-site program manager. Current and potential homeowners will benefit from financial literacy classes, workshops on affordable housing lotteries and home foreclosure prevention. Professional and business development workshops (on topics like pricing, financial management, target marketing) will increase the small business owner’s skills in the work- and market- place.
