Board of Directors
The Board of Directors meets bi-monthly to review program progress and to develop or approve strategic plans to meet program and organization goals. The Board is comprised of residents representing the towns of our service area, individuals of low-income or individuals representing our low-income clients and constituents, a mix of those with interest and expertise in affordable housing and economic development, as well as representatives from key partner organizations, including the Community Coalition of Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Commission, and an established environmental organization.
Steve Roderick, President, Board of Directors
Steve Roderick is a native of Provincetown and graduated from Provincetown High School. After a career in restaurant management which included the Lobster Pot in Provincetown and the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Steve returned to the Cape and now owns and operates Roderick’s Payroll and Bookkeeping Service. His business employs four people year-round and serves clients from Provincetown to Brewster. Steve is also a member of the Seamen’s Bank Board of Trustees, and Treasurer of the Lower
Cape Ambulance Association.
Florence Seldin, Vice President, Board of Directors
Prior to moving to Cape Cod full time in 1994, Florence served for 3 years as Superintendent of Schools in Harvard, MA. Currently, a member of the Chatham Board of Selectmen, Florence has been involved with the Chatham Affordable Housing Committee, Community Preservation Committee and the Friends of Chatham Affordable Housing (FoCAH). She was Chatham’s representative to the Cape Cod Commission and for ten years served as a court advocate for Independence House. Florence was President of the League of Women Voters Cape Cod Area, and served on the state board of the League as well. She has a doctorate from the University of Rochester.
Joe Bayne, – Interim Treasurer
For the past forty years, Joe Bayne has started, managed, acquired, integrated and sold businesses focused on financial transaction and information processing services and software. His career included working with Automatic Data Processing, Inc, (ADP) and Bell Telephone Laboratories. Joe currently serves on the Eastham Finance Committee.
Eileen Brady – Interim Clerk
As a chemist, Eileen worked for the Consumer Products Division of Quaker Oats and the Wrigley Chewing Gum Company. Working with the Hair Care Products Team of the Toni Company (a Division of Gillette) Eileen was one of the developers of the popular “Dippity Do” product. Eileen moved to Cape Cod in 1988, retiring in 1994. She has volunteered for the Harwich Housing Committee, the Family Pantry and the Cape Cod Literacy Council. She has also served as President of the Cape Cod Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. In addition to serving on the CDC Board of Directors, Eileen volunteers on the Housing with Love Walk Committee, the Friends of the Council on Aging in Harwich along with the Historic Harwich Center Initiative and the Harwich Historic District Committee.
Norman Edinberg
Norm Edinberg represents the CDC on the Cape and Islands License Plate Steering Committee. He is the retired founder and president of several auto industry manufacturing companies in Venezuela where he lived for 27 years. He also designed and directed an Entrepreneurship program for the United Nations, implementing it in several countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Norm is a resident of Truro where he served on the Truro Partnership, the ZBA, the Selectmen’s Advisory Committee, the Charter Re-Write Committee, the Open Space Committee and Truro Concert Committee.
Scott Kerry
Scott Kerry joined the family’s insurance business in 1994, and became the current President in 2003. He is a 1989 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and received his MBA from Suffolk University in 2000. Scott also volunteers his time with Nauset Cares and served on the Finance Committee for the Town of Eastham. Scott currently serves as the Chairperson, Eastham Charter Review Committee and on the Board of the Cape Cod Insurance Agents Association.
Wayne LoPresto
Wayne LoPresto moved to the Cape in 2003 from Williamstown, MA with his wife, Peg and three children. Wayne is an Investment Executive with Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank. He has been in the business for 20 years. Peg is a real estate broker with American Heritage Realty of Orleans and has been in real estate for 22 years. Their youngest child, Natalie, graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2009. Wayne also serves as Chair of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce for 2010.
Jari Rapaport
Jari Rapaport retired to Cape Cod in 1993 from Hastings-on-Hudson, NY where she was employed for 19 years by Family Service of Westchester, Inc. as the Director of Advocacy Services. She also worked for the New York City Youth Board and later as an Associate with the Citizen’s Committee for Children, Inc. in New York City. Jari’s current membership and activities include: The Homeless Preventions Council and The League of Women Voters of the Cape Cod Area. Jari served for many years on the Town of Eastham Human Services Advisory Committee. She holds a Master of Science (Sociology) from Columbia University and a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University.
Gerard J. (Rod) Vyskocil, Jr.
Rod spent his career in the sales and development of employee benefits plans. Rod’s concentration was on the design, sale and communication of worksite benefit programs. During his career, he helped to design, sell and enroll the voluntary dental plans which collectively cover more than 1.5 million people. Prior to starting his own firm, Rod was President of Better Benefits, Inc., a national broker of voluntary benefit programs; a Principal in American Dental Consulting Company, a leading dental benefits design firm; and Executive Vice President of LeafRe Reinsurance Company, a facilitator of turnkey voluntary dental insurance programs. Rod now devotes his time to various non-profits. He serves as a board member of Camp Acorn, a program benefiting multiple handicapped children and adults; President Emeritus of the Rockland Country Club Foundation, a philanthropic organization; and First Vice President of the David Goldberg-Berdais Child Care Center, a school that provides early childhood education and day care services for low income residents of Northern Bergen County, New Jersey. He is also a member of the President’s Council at St. Thomas College in Sparkill, NY. Rod lives in East Orleans, MA with Joanne, his wife of 29 years.
Heather Brown Kotel
Heather was born and raised on Cape Cod, and currently resides in South Dennis with her husband, stepson, daughter and yellow Lab. She is currently the Small Business Relationship Manager for the Lower Cape area of TD Bank, and has been in the banking field since 1993. In addition to her service on the CDP’s Board of Directors, she is also the Treasurer for the Women of Fishing Families and has Captained Taylor’s Team at the Dennis-Yarmouth Relay for Life for the past five years.
Terri Souza
Terri has served as Manager of the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank’s Orleans Branch since May 2009. She joined the bank in 2007 as its Eastham Manager following over twenty years in banking management roles on Cape Cod. During that time Terri has enjoyed the satisfaction and rewards of being involved in many local organizations. As a member of the Eastham Chamber of Commerce, she serves as Treasurer and Chair of their Finance Committee, and as a member of their Events Committee. Also, she recently had the pleasure of volunteering for the Cape Cod Children’s Place annual Lunch Box fundraiser. Originally from Michigan, Terry has resided in Brewster since 1989 with her husband and two sons.
Sandy Blajda
Sandy Blajda spent the first 18 years of her life in New Hampshire, obtained a degree in Graphic Design in the Boston area, returned to New Hampshire where she worked in the printing and publishing industry and then moved to Bermuda with her husband for two years. In Bermuda, she volunteered for the Big Sisters of Bermuda and the Bermuda Biological Station for research. From Bermuda, Sandy and her husband relocated to Cape Cod and opened “Ocean Tailors”, located in the Nauset Marine building in Orleans. They employ four part-time employees. Sandy currently resides on Cape Cod but owns and manages rental property in New Hampshire. She is happy to join the Board of Directors of the CDP and is a new member of the Housing Committee.
Ernie Rogers
Ernie has worked for Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank for the last fifteen years. His current position is Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer. He is active in his community and is presently involved with the Highlands Center, Snow Library in Orleans and of course, the CDP.
Prior to moving to the Cape in 1989, Ernie lived in and around the Boston area and progressed through two other distinct careers. A career in the book industry and another in the catalog mail-order business. He is married to Anita, a Social Worker, and has two adult daughters that have provided them with 7 wonderful grandchildren!
Jane Teixeira-Henry
After graduating from Harwich High School and attending a junior college in Boston, Jane began work at Otis Air Force Base as secretary to a squadron commander.
In 1958, Jane had the opportunity to work for the United Nations for the Bureau of Technical Assistance Section for the Middle East and Africa which sparked her interest in politics and world affairs that has continued through the years.
In 1966, Jane and her husband Hank moved to Binghamton, NY, where she worked in Employee Benefits for New York State Electric & Gas Company.
Retuning to Cape Cod, in 1967, she worked as an Executive Assistant to the president of an oceanographic research firm and defense contractor in Falmouth. After numerous visits to Washington, DC, to attend marine technological trade shows, she decided to relocate to Washington in 1968 and was hired by Senator Harrison Williams (NJ) to assist the Press Secretary.
In Washington, Jane worked for the Education Director for the District committee, U.S. House of Representatives. In 1974, she was the first person hired on the newly-formed Budget Committee, U.S. Hour of Representatives, which eventually led to her becoming Staff Administrator. In 1990, she retired from Capitol Hill to pursue her interests. Since then she has been a substitute elementary school teacher, a volunteer at Good Will Industries, a docent at Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum, a volunteer at the Cape Verde Embassy, Washington, DC, and an officer in both the county and state branches of the Maryland NAACP.
Jane and her husband returned to Cape Cod and in 2008 built an ADA Compliant Bed and Breakfast in Harwich.
Jane is married to Col. George (Hank) A. Henry, Jr., USAF (Ret.). They have three daughters and four grandchildren.
